Fees & Refunds

For every thank-you you send, the amount is divided as follows:

• Platform fee — 5% of the contribution keeps Thankspark running.
• Payment processing — 2.9% + $0.30 charged by our processor, Stripe.
• Do-Gooder Fund — 5% of the contribution, set aside from the recipient's share, funds the monthly Do-Gooder award voted on by the community.
• The recipient receives the remainder.

You can also choose to cover the processing fee at checkout so more reaches the recipient. The exact breakdown is always shown before you pay.

Recipients receive their balance through Stripe once they accept their nomination and complete Stripe Connect onboarding. Payout timing is governed by Stripe. Recipients are responsible for any taxes owed on amounts they receive.

Contributions are voluntary gifts of appreciation and are generally non-refundable once processed. If you were charged in error, charged more than once, or suspect fraud, contact us promptly and we will investigate and, where appropriate, issue a refund. Refunds that are granted are returned to your original payment method.
